"Whitbourne School - Serving its community in the 21st Century."

Easter Service

The school held its Easter service in Whitbourne Church on Thursday. It started with the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, while the children waved banners and sang "Make Way, make way for Christ the King".
The children re-enacted the Last Supper, sharing the bread with the whole congregation as a symbol of community.
The children of Class 3 created a dance depicting the arrest, torture and crucifixion of Jesus. The violence of the first section of the dance, was balanced by the sadness of the death scene, seen here.
The end changed mood for a third time when Jesus rose from the tomb delivering the message of hope that is the essential ingredient of Easter Day.
The service ended with the distribution of Easter eggs to all the children.
